Are your high-speed interfaces ESD protected?

February 3, 2016

The latest high speed interfaces with data rates in the gigabyte range allow only minimum additional capacitance on the line. And, as these interfaces continue to get smaller, they are even more susceptible to ESD strikes. Low capacitance ESD protection diodes were developed specifically to maintain signal quality for high-speed data lines such as USB, HDMI and RF antennas.

Available in ultra-small case sizes, including SOD-882 and DFN0603, these ultra low capacitance ESD protection diodes are designed to protect sensitive components connected to data transmission lines from overvoltage caused by electrostatic discharge and electrical fast transients. They offer low leakage current, low clamping voltage, low capacitance, small footprints, and are RoHS compliant and halogen free.

Low cap ESD protection diodes are ideal for:

  • Smartphones
  • Digital cameras and other portable devices
  • HDMI
  • USB
  • DVI display
  • Monitors and flat-screen panels
  • Ethernet and LVDS

Diverse Electronics carries a complete lineup of ESD TVS (transient voltage suppressor) diodes, including ultra-low cap polymer and ceramic.
